When at long last, we gaze into our depths, we see the same kind of enchantment and resilience we see in undisturbed nature. ~ Bill Plotkin
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy or Natural Medicine, is a system of healthcare that weaves together traditional medicine with the most recent scientific evidence. Natural Medicine is a gift from nature, to allow the healing process of ailments as they arise from our environment. One of the (many) beautiful things about Naturopathy, is that it is a completely individualised science; there is no one-size-fits-all solution - enter the catchphrase 'natural tailored care'.
Naturopathic medicine, is a completely individualised science. In combination with an investigation into your physical being, nutrition, environmental factors, emotional well-being and self-love practices, Naturopathy allows space to provide a comprehensive individualised treatment based upon your unique symptoms, in order to treat your whole body and allow you to reach your full potential.
The six principles of naturopathic medicine:
-
Vis medicatrix naturae - the healing power of nature
-
Tolle causam - identify and treat the cause
-
Primum no nocere - first do no harm
-
In perturbato animo sicut in corpore sanitas esse non potest - treat the whole person
-
Docere - the physician as teacher
-
Principiis obsta: sero medicina curatur - prevention

What should I expect from a Naturopathic Consultation with you?
As a holistic practitioner it is important for me to understand your story, and in our initial consultation we talk in-depth about all areas of your life, among many areas of your life this may include past experiences, family health history and self care practices. Your treatment plan is evidenced-based to your needs and we utilise nutritional medicine, herbal medicine and lifestyle modification to achieve sustainable long-term positive change in your life.
Do you work with other modalities or specialists?
Yes, it is very common to be referred to a Naturopath and likewise, if something is out of my scope of practice, I will refer you to a specialist or encourage you to dig deeper with your GP. Naturopathic Medicine is considered to be complementary medicine and I enjoy working alongside allopathic practitioners; I understand there is an important place for both styles of medicine in our healthcare system.
